This was another one of those shows that caught me off guard. The only bit of information I had going in was that it featured giant, fighting robots. Needless to say that Gurren Lagann was a bit more than that. While the show certainly featured plenty of over the top robot fights and other forms of mind blowing action, it was the emotional punches that this show delivered that really stand out.

Surely I couldn’t have been the only person wondering why the hell Kirito was carrying around two swords. We all saw what he was doing to people with one sword. So why did he have two? Why did he never use the second one? What did it do? There was an entire episode dedicated to Kirito getting the second sword, but not once had he used it. The suspense and mystery was driving me mad. Until that oh so wonderful boss fight.
n hindsight there was very little that could have prepared me for the madness, the sheer balls-to-the-wall insanity that is Kill la Kill. I’d heard about it from friends, I’d read about it on the internet, and I was just coming off Gurren Lagann, which was made by the same people. I thought I was ready.
Needless to say I was so very wrong. First let’s get the formalities out of the way. Spoilers! Spoilers everywhere! The events that make up this list will contain spoilers. So, to you reading this list, proceed with caution. One thing that may be readily apparent about this list is that the majority is made up from anime’s that have only been released within the last few years. As a result I may have excluded certain events. There is a reason for this. There was a period of time when I was younger that I decided that it was time to “grow up,” to be “more mature,” to put aside the more childish things that I had been enjoying to try and fit in better with my surroundings. It was during this period of time that I damn near stopped interacting with all things that would be considered “nerdy” or “geeky.”
